When You Wake Up In Pain

I woke up tired, and I felt the pain within my body — it was a mental type of pain. What could I do about this awful pain, I wondered. Then I realized the pain was needed to awaken me. I knew that my attention had to be focused on the pain, without any resistance to it. I observed how intense the pain was, even though before I had no idea about it. If we’re not dismissing it, a simple exercise like this can make us realize we’re waking up in a great deal of pain.

The main lesson shall be: We often overlook many things related to our well-being because we don’t want to work on ourselves. We want to stay comfortable and deluded. Is that a good thing, I might ask? No. The alternative is to correct course and solve our mental health issues.
