A Spiritual Perspective: When You Feel Stuck At Work

By | July 14, 2023

You are not the only one who feels stuck at work. I mean, you might be on the brink of despair, knowing that in case you change your job, it will still be the same — a few days will pass but you won’t feel like getting out of bed in the morning. A new experience for nothing!

I remember being in a similar situation. I couldn’t cope with my job for various reasons, but I didn’t know why at that time. For me, getting out of bed was a nightmare, and it felt like climbing Mount Everest. Other people weren’t happy about their jobs but they weren’t on the brink of despair.

Something was seriously wrong, so I had to look out for answers. I was fed up with myself, and I couldn’t take it any longer. So much suffering! But my desire to get out of that mess was the essential ingredient that lead me to the spiritual path. If I didn’t have that drive to find solutions, I wouldn’t have been here today.

What I’m writing here isn’t about giving you instructions or telling you what you must do. Instead, I want to instill in you a profound curiosity about the spiritual path. Why? Because you need it. One day — in case you’re not despairing already — you’ll be fed up with life and everything. You won’t feel enthusiastic about getting out of bed in the morning. You won’t have enough energy. And you won’t have what it takes to cope with reality. Here’s a masterful quote written by Robert Greene:

Reality has its own power—you can turn your back on it, but it will find you in the end, and your inability to cope with it will be your ruin.

Therefore, what we need is a burning desire for change; when we have it, the spiritual path leads us in the right direction, and it’ll slowly reveal itself to us.

Don’t believe me? Give it a try. Vow that from now on you will stay on the spiritual path, even when you won’t see any progress. Because it takes a while only to notice a small change, but it will give you the much-needed feeling of motivation to continue on the path for the rest of your life.
